What to Look For When Shopping For Lingerie

Every woman loves lingerie; it makes them feel sexy, empowered and it can make everyone look fabulous in the eyes of their partner. Some women don't buy lingerie for a partner though; they buy it simply to feel good about themselves, and why not. For those that do buy for a partner, lingerie can spice up a love life faster than any other method. A great bonus about buying lingerie is that shopping for lingerie has never been easier since the Internet revolution.

There are so many brands of lingerie that you could shop for, such as Hustler, Dreamgirl, Leg Avenue and so many more great brands. There are also many companies selling brand and non brand named lingerie at discount prices. So, what kind of lingerie are you actually looking for? See the descriptions below as a buying guide for lingerie.

Babydolls: Babydolls are cute outfits that are a little like short nightgowns. The babydolls have a bra at the top and will have a loose, flowing amount of fabric coming from it .The fabric is normally sheer. These can usually be bought with matching panties and look great with stockings and high heels.

Basques: A basque is not unlike a corset. The basques are used instead of wearing a bra and they can be worn underneath clothes for support or without if you are daring enough. The basques cover the wearer from the bust to the hips and are made to fit tightly. There are many different types of basques in a huge variety of colors and styles.

Bustiers: Bustiers are the same as basques except they go from the bust to the waist rather than to the hips. Again, these can be worn underneath clothing or as a top matched with a skirt or trousers.

Catsuit: A catsuit is an all in one outfit that is meant to fit tightly! Catsuits and body stockings do have different jobs though; they can be used as undergarments to shape the body or they can be used as outfits to wear on a night out or in the bedroom.

Camisoles: A camisole is usually a delicate little top that is made from sheer fabric. A camisole doesn't have to be tightly fitted and doesn't come with bra support like a basque or a bustier does. Camisoles can be worn as vests under sheer clothing or as night wear.

Chemise: A chemise is normally used as nightwear, but can be worn during the day if the chemise in particular is suitable enough. Chemises are normally strappy night gowns that cover to the thighs. Some may have splits in the legs and can be worn as club wear rather than night wear.

So, next time you are lingerie shopping, either for yourself or for your partner, make sure you are buying the right type of item. Lingerie is always best when it fits the wearer properly. Not all lingerie is fitted tightly, but all lingerie needs to be the correct size to look right. If buying for yourself, get yourself measured properly before you shop for any type of lingerie.

If you want to look sexy and feel great the lingerie has to fit correctly. If you are buying for a partner, don't be afraid to ask them their sizing. If you don't, you could end up buying the wrong size and end up offending the potential wearer.
